    New and Un-Improved, March 9, 2018

I was the BIGGEST fan of No Cow, singing their praises to anyone who would listen- And many people who wouldn’t. It didn’t matter because I loved these bars with a fiery passion . Plowing through two boxes per month at least, these things were my life blood, the foundation of my personal food pyramid. Raspberry Truffle was my absolute favorite, but I adored the Mint Chocolate as well, followed closely by the Blueberry Cobbler and Peanut Butter Chip. It was a beautiful love story.

And then… My soul mate morphed from Dr. Jekyll into Mr Hyde. I’m confounded by the switch to a new formula and mourn the loss of what was once a perfect balance of flavor and nutrition. This current formulation is a sad shadow of its former self. The texture is like chewing on foam latex, and the flavor isn’t much better.

I’m still crushed by this switch and wish No Cow would reconsider… I don’t know what will fill this hole in my stomach!

New Branding = Bad Taste, February 16, 2018

I have eaten these bars (particularly peanut butter chocolate chip) daily for years and am heartbroken that with the new branding came a drastic change in the bar. Not only did the calorie and fat increase but the bar is now completely tasteless and has a chalky consistency. It has no peanut butter flavor at all and it’s like you’re eating protein powder. To me they are inedible. I won’t be buying these bars again. Please please please No Cow, cut the bull and go back to the original formula that made your bar popular.

EDIT (July 27, 2017): They have changed the formula for the latest batch. The taste and texture is now very different, which is why you see so many conflicting reviews. Of the new formula, I have only tried the Lemon Meringue Pie and Blueberry Cobbler – I actually liked the flavor of them both, but the Lemon Meringue made me constipated for some reason. I am contacting D’s Naturals to ask about this and see if they are going to listen to all the complaints and return to the classic formula. I will update my review if anything changes.

    Lemon Meringue Pie – 5/5
    Blueberry Cobbler – 4.5/5
    Raspberry Truffle – 4.5/5
    Peanut Butter Chocolate – 4/5
    Mint Cocoa Chip – 3/5
    Dark Raspberry – 3/5
    Chocolate Fudge Brownie – 3/5
    Chocolate Banana Bread – 2.5/5

The top 4 are the ones I recommend buying.

The bottom 4 I probably would not recommend. The Mint tastes strange in a bar of this texture. The Dark Raspberry, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Chocolate Banana Bread don’t really taste like the flavors they are supposed to taste like, and they also have far too much sweetener and taste too chocolatey.

I hope D’s Naturals makes more fruit flavors (like the lemon, blueberry, and raspberry) in the future, with some new fruits. These are the best ones.
