How to prepare and season mate

How to prepare and season mate
This time, still in Buenos Aires, Martin is gonna tells us a little bit about Mate, a very traditional drink consumed in South America, especially in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Brasil.

The origins of this drink are guaraní, but the main mate producer is Argentina.

There’s an important clarification about the name of the drink. The actual pot name is Mate, and the herbs, are usually called “yerba” (herb in Spanish). Nevertheless; people always say; “vamos a tomar unos mates” (let’s drink mates). So mate is the name of the pot and the infusion. “Bombilla” is the name of the metal straw that people use to drink the content of the mate.

Thanks so much to the mural artist and friend Martín, a.k.a Elliot Troyó (https://www.facebook.com/elliot.troyo) for having us and sharing his mate theories and wisdom.
